First Time Guide to izR's Webmail Service1. To Login:Point your browser, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, AOL, whichever, to http://www.izrmail.com. You'll reach a logon screen like that below. Login there with your ADSL or Dial-in or other izR-assigned username, without the @domain part, e.g.:- The first time you logon to your new mailbox vai the web interface, you'll be prompted to enter your preferred email name & your first name & surname, but if you miss that chance, or want to change your entries, you can. See section 3 & 5. 2. Your InboxOnce logged-in, you'll be given a view of the email in your Inbox. To see what's in your other folders, e.g. your sent email, click on that folder name on the left hand side.
3. Setting your name(s) & email name(s)There are lots of options which you could set, e.g. to decide how many emails you'd show on one page, to choose colour schemes, and more, but it is important that you setup your own name and your email name before you send you first email. Choose the Options link in the menu bar at the top, the the right hand part of the web page will change like below:-
4. One UserIf there's only going to be one user of your mailbox, stick with the simple entry panel, which starts like below. In addition to your name & email name, you can enter signatures, choose which time zone you're working out of today, and other options
5. Multiple IdentitiesBut a great feature of the Webmail interface is that it can support multiple sender identities. For this, choose the Edit Advanced Identities link and then enter the main/Default user, and under that, enter the name & email names of other users.
6. IMAP value-add: Using More FoldersA great value-add feature of IMAP-capable email systems, like izR's mailboxes, over the POP3 mailboxes which most ISPs supply, is that IMAP support multiple folders. So if you've got multiple users, each one could have his or her own folder, and whoever reads the main Inbox could move the received email out into the appropriate new folder. Of course, if you want to sort your own correspondance into lots of folders by subject, you can do that too. You have the ability to Create, Delete and Rename folders. You'll need to click the refresh folder list link each time you make any changes, or else you won't see the changed folders until you next login.
7. Composing and Sending EmailAnd now you're ready to send email! Just fill-in the To:, Cc: or even Blind-Cc: addresses, the Subject line, and the body-part, add any attachments, and press "Send". And if you want to, ask for the receiving email program to notify you when the email is delivered and read - but remember, this is an optional feature of email programs, and lots of people choose to disable these receipts.
8. But wait, there's more...There are many other things you can "tune" in this Webmail interface, and you can manage address books, search through sent & received mail folders... but this is a First Time Guide! You'll work out how to use the advanced features, and I hope you've noticed that there's a Help link for you to follow on most pages, if you get lost, or want more detail. 9. Sign-OutSo that no one else can read your email or send from you account, remember to sign-out when you're finished, with the Sign Out link at the top right corner. |
